Reintegration Supportive Services

We will offer individual and group counseling services for individuals reintegrating into society after incarceration. Counseling sessions are facilitated by qualified professionals who hold master's degrees in criminal justice and/or social work or peer support providers. Counseling sessions will be held onsite at our location, and other established reentry housing program locations.

Participants attend one individual and one group counseling session per week, with all sessions being an hour each. Individual counseling sessions focus on developing healthy family relationships, decreasing the likeliness of recidivism, and adjusting to free society. There is a maximum number of 6 participants per group session, and the full counseling program last 6 weeks. Additional referrals to mental health counseling are made as needed. This service is offered at no cost to participants.

Resource and Referrals

As a resource and referral hub, AILM provides information on established organizations that can assist those reintegrating into society after incarceration. Resources we provide information on include those that assist with housing, transportation, and basic human needs such as food, and clothing. We provide referrals to mental health counseling services to those who have experienced domestic abuse, substance use disorder, addictions to sex or gambling, and social skills development such as employment readiness and maintenance.

Advocacy

Our advocacy services revolve around various prison issues which our clients want resolved in a specific manner. Regardless of what the prison problem might be, our inmate advocates take a standardized approach. We start by speaking with the client and their family to understand the issue, what led to the issue, and what resolution our clients would prefer. During this phase we also obtain any necessary background documentation to round-out our understanding of the issue and for use in our advocacy.
